Fannett Metal lost against the Shalom Christian Academy Flames back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The game between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Fannett Metal falling 62-44. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while Shalom Christian Academy is ranked 136th).
Shalom Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Adams led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maya Lehman, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Fannett Metal has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Shalom Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fannett Metal will take on Claysburg-Kimmel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shalom Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cumberland Valley Christian at 6:45 p.m. on January 16th.
