Top 100 high school football players from Class of 2021: Texas, California, Florida lead the way

Four states combine for nearly half of the field, but Washington's J.T. Tuimoloau checks in at No. 1.

Barton Simmons, the Director of Scouting for 247Sports, recently released his updated Top 100 player rankings for the Class of 2021 and it features players from 27 different states but 46 coming from the four major football hot beds — California, Florida, Georgia and Texas.

Texas leads the way with 16 players featured while the Florida is next with 11, followed by California's 10 and Georgia's nine.

Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, North Carolina and Pennsylvania are the only other states with at least five players.

J.T. Tuimoloau of Eastside Catholic (Sammamish, Wash.) is the No. 1 rated recruit and is one of four players from Washington. The reigning Junior of the Year, Emeka Egbuka of Steilacoom, checks in at No. 7 overall and the other two are 2021 Washington commit Sam Huard of Kennedy Catholic (Burien, Wash.) and Julien Simon of Lincoln (Tacoma).

Tuimoloau leads a top-heavy list of defensive lineman, as the top four players in the class are all in the trenches. Korey Foreman of Corona Centennial (Calif.), Jack Sawyer of Pickerington North (Ohio) and Leonard Taylor of Palmetto (Miami) check in at Nos. 2-4, respectively. Nineteen of the 100 players on the list line up on the defensive side.

On the other side of the ball, the quarterback position is loaded for the Class of 2021. Thirteen are featured, led by Caleb Williams of Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.), who checks in at No. 6 overall.

Seven schools have more than one player in the Top 100 led by St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia) with three.

IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Denton Ryan (Texas), North Gwinnett (Suwanee, Ga.), Palmetto (Miami) and Clarkston (Mich.) all have two players featured.
