The Golden West Trailblazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-17 loss at the hands of Monache. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Golden West in their matchups with Monache: they've now lost four in a row.
Golden West's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Danae Banuelos, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Liliana Delgado who scored two points.
Monache found their leader in underclassman Shelley Andrade, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was London Haynes, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Golden West has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Monache, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-2.
Golden West will head out on the road to take on Mt. Whitney at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Whitney comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Monache's road trip will continue as they head out to face Central at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Monache likes a good challenge.
