Baseball Recap: Bulls College Prep Comes Up Short

Bulls College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Muchin College Prep Mountain Lions. The Bulls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mountain Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Jonathan Perez put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Isaias Rodriguez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Bulls College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Muchin College Prep, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bulls College Prep will venture away from home to take on ITW David Speer Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulls will need to watch out since the Pride have now posted at least ten runs in their last six matchups. As for Muchin College Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Mansueto at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mountain Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Leopards have averaged an impressive 13 runs per game this season.
