North Salinas owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They didn't even let the King City Mustangs on the board, marking the Vikings' second-straight 7-0 shutout. Considering the Vikings have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Zack Sims, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Burkhardt, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

North Salinas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King City only posted an OBP of .310.

North Salinas is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for King City, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 6-13.

North Salinas will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
