The Northern Cambria Colts scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past Conemaugh Valley with points to spare, taking the game 52-38. The victory was some much needed relief for Northern Cambria as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Conemaugh Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Penelope Reininger and Sarah Miller. Reininger dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Miller dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Miller hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Northern Cambria's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Conemaugh Valley, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-9.
Northern Cambria will be playing at home against Marion Center at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Marion Center presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northern Cambria in Pennsylvania (Marion Center is ranked 78th, while Northern Cambria is ranked 542nd). As for Conemaugh Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Blacklick Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Blacklick Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.8 points per game.
