The Sayre Sabres will head out on the road to square off against Audenried at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sayre walked away with it. They walked away with a 62-50 win over the Generals on Friday. Sayre's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Sayre's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mischa Ferguson-Bell, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ferguson-Bell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brionn Veal-Coston, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Audenried stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 67-47 margin over Masterman. Winning may never get old, but Audenried sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Audenried's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shayla Smith, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Senaya Parker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and five steals.
The victory made it two in a row for Sayre and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for Audenried, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Sayre might still be hurting after the 51-29 defeat they got from Audenried when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Can Sayre avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
