They came out on top against Kennedy by a score of 61-54. For Cleveland, this counts as revenge for the 38-36 loss Kennedy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Cleveland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabriella Calderon, who scored 20 points along with three steals. The contest was Calderon's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie Anzora, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Kennedy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katherine Franco, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Alyssa Garcia was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Cleveland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
Cleveland will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on El Camino Real at 4:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for Kennedy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chavez at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
