Even though the Arroyo Dons have not done well against the Mt. Eden Monarchs recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Arroyo walked away with a 45-33 win over Mt. Eden. This was payback for Arroyo, who suffered a 60-43 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arroyo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Chan, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Walker, who scored four points along with 16 rebounds and two steals.
Arroyo's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15. As for Mt. Eden, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Arroyo the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Encinal at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Encinal is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. Mt. Eden's road trip will continue as they head out to face Berkeley at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st.
