The Mission Oak Hawks won the last time they faced the Strathmore Spartans, and things went their way on Thursday too. Mission Oak came out on top against Strathmore by a score of 46-33. Given Mission Oak's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Strathmore is ranked 541st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mission Oak got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sierra Calantas out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Zepeda, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Mission Oak and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Strathmore, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mission Oak will take on Bullard at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bullard is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Strathmore, they will head out on the road to face off against Golden West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden West is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
