The Sierra Pacific Golden Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Kingsburg Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sierra Pacific has 11 straight victories, the Vikings have ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Sierra Pacific gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hanford 76-36 on the road. Given Sierra Pacific's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Bullpups are ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sierra Pacific got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Asia Jackson out in front who scored 13 points along with seven steals and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyang Ayuen, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Kingsburg took a serious blow against the Lions on Friday, falling 52-21.
Sierra Pacific has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Kingsburg, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-21.
Everything came up roses for Sierra Pacific against the Vikings when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 64-10 win. With Sierra Pacific ahead 39-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
