If the Simi Valley Pioneers were riding high off their 58-31 takedown of the Nordhoff Rangers on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Simi Valley took a hard 54-37 fall against Santa Paula on Monday. Simi Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Santa Paula apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
Santa Paula was led to victory by Aryanna Lopez and Miahnna Galvan. Lopez scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds, while Galvan scored 13 points along with 8 steals and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Alyse Ramirez, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Simi Valley now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Santa Paula, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Simi Valley will challenge West Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Paula, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Clara at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Santa Clara is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
