Millard West is a perfect 10-0 against Omaha Central since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wildcats will host the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Millard West has nine straight wins, Omaha Central has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Millard West hadn't beaten Millard South on the road since October 6, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Addison Burdorf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lily Van Boskirk and Addie Abboud did most of the damage at the plate: Van Boskirk went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Abboud went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI. Those five hits gave Abboud a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Wenz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Millard West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .425. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millard South only posted a batting average of .050.
Mercy hit Omaha Central with a six-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monarchs.
Edie Titus put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Titus was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Nichole Palfini and Macy Andrews did some serious damage despite the final result: Palfini went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run, while Andrews went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Katelyn McClure was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Millard West's win bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Omaha Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.
Omaha Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Millard West has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Omaha Central, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 strikeouts. Will Millard West keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
Millard West took their victory against Omaha Central in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
