Baseball Recap: Sierra Lutheran Wins Going Away Against Pyramid Lake

Sierra Lutheran won against Carlin on Friday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Sierra Lutheran Falcons blew past the Pyramid Lake Lakers 15-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Grayson Ricks made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Ramirez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Drew Gleiser was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

Sierra Lutheran now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Pyramid Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Lutheran will host West Wendover at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sierra Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Pyramid Lake, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Excel Christian at 10:00 a.m. on March 8th. Excel Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something Pyramid Lake will no doubt try to take advantage of.
