The James Logan Colts will challenge the Washington Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (James Logan 3.7, Washington 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
James Logan took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They never let Newark Memorial get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.
The result came thanks to Wesley Vega's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because James Logan is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Medina, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-2. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Washington fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Moreau Catholic on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mariners by a score of 3-2. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hugo Marks spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.
At the plate, Washington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Dutra, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Dutra's first of the season.
James Logan pushed their record up to 8-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
James Logan came out on top in a nail-biter against Washington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
