Westover was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They were two  runs away from ending the streak, but they lost  an   8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sumter County Panthers. The Patriots were not able to make up for their  loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting  back in September of 2024.
  Sydney Donaldson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and  went a perfect 1-for-1 with two  stolen bases and two  runs.  Morgan Polite was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
Westover's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westover will welcome Deerfield-Windsor  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Sumter County, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season  when they go up against Dougherty  at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday.
