Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Scotts Valley). Their defense stepped up to hand the North Salinas Vikings a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Scotts Valley's offense was hitting North Salinas from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Dillon Fiorita led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The win made it two in a row for Scotts Valley and bumps their season record up to 3-2-2. As for North Salinas, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Scotts Valley will head out to face off against Watsonville at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Scotts Valley will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last. As for North Salinas, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carmel at 3:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
