East Rowan came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the South Rowan Raiders with a sharp 49-26 win. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Raiders are ranked 455th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Rowan's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for South Rowan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

East Rowan will take on Lake Norman Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Norman Charter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for South Rowan, they will challenge Carson at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th.
