After soaring to a 20-point win in their last game, Huntington Park came back down to earth on Monday. They fell just short of South East by a score of 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Huntington Park has suffered since December 1, 2023.
Legacy posted their biggest win since December 6, 2023 on Monday. They blew past South Gate 52-6 on the road.
Legacy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Katherine Beas out in front who scored 14 points. Alyssa Casillas was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Huntington Park has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Legacy, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Huntington Park couldn't quite finish off Legacy when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 39-36. Can Huntington Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
