Ellsworth won the last time they faced Republic County, and Tucker Goss did his part to make sure it happened again. The Bearcats were the clear victors by a 40-16 margin over the Buffaloes on Friday thanks in part to Goss, who rushed for 244 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles.
Jackson Minear was another major influence, as he rushed for 77 yards and ran in a TD. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.
Despite the loss, Republic County still got an impressive performance from Levi White, who rushed for 65 yards and one score on only five carries, and also picked up 46 receiving yards.
Ellsworth has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 44.5 points this season. As for Republic County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
