The Shasta Wolves will be taking part in a tournament against the West Valley Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Shasta barely beat Enterprise the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 15-5 victory last Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.
Johnny Eirish made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Shasta got a massive performance out of Ty Jones, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in runs (two). Jack Peterson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Shasta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Enterprise only managed six.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Valley). Everything went their way against Yreka on Friday as they made off with a 16-6 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Aiden Sweet, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kale Springer, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.
The victory got Shasta back to even at 6-6. As for West Valley, their record now sits at 10-3.
Shasta couldn't quite get it done against West Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 as they fell 9-5. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
