Robert Soto was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Zasada, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Liesen, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Reavis lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Reavis' win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Evergreen Park, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Reavis has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Evergreen Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
