First Presbyterian Day waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Gatewood Gators. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Gators back in March, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

First Presbyterian Day pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Gatewood, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7.

Coming up, First Presbyterian Day will challenge Piedmont Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.5, the Cougars 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Gatewood, they will square off against Tallulah Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
