The Frazier Commodores's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 59-40 fall against Washington. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Frazier in their matchups with the Prexies: they've now lost six in a row.
Frazier's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie Yauch, who scored 16 points along with four steals. That was a full 40% of Frazier's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Harger, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Leading Washington to victory were Olivia Woods and Kaprice Johnson. Woods scored 13 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Woods hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Kyndra Wynn, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Frazier has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Washington, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Chartiers-Houston the next time they take the court. Washington will host Chartiers-Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Frazier will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
