The Greater Latrobe Wildcats gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 67-47 margin over Richland.
Despite the loss, Richland saw an underclassman step up: Trinity Macey scored 23 points along with 5 rebounds. Lanie Marshall was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
Greater Latrobe's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greater Latrobe will take on River Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Richland, they will head out on the road to face off against Cambria Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Allowing an average of 57 points per game, Cambria Heights has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match.
