Basketball Game Preview: Interboro Buccaneers vs. Chester Clippers

The Interboro Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Chester Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Interboro is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Interboro lost to Penn Wood at home by a 58-39 margin.

Interboro's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ashley Talbot, who posted 11 points, and Madilyn Mea, who had 20 points and eight boards. Those 11 points gave Talbot a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Chester entered their match against Strath Haven on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Chester fell 43-33 to Strath Haven. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Clippers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Panthers are ranked 381st).

Interboro will need focus on slowing down Imani Dorsey, one of several Chester players who made an impact when they last played. She went 8 of 13 on her way to 17 points. Ja?Mya Muhammad was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Chester's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-3. As for Interboro, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.

Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Interboro has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 56.9% of their three-pointers per game. However, it's not like Chester struggles in that department as they've made 37.3% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
