The Oroville Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 victory over Las Plumas. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Oroville has posted yet this season.
Leading Oroville to victory were Leila Jackson and Serenity Miller. Jackson dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Miller dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played.
Las Plumas' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Hepworth, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds, and liliana Carrillo who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Hepworth is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games she's played.
Oroville's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Las Plumas, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Oroville will head out on the road to face off against Corning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Corning comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Las Plumas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
