After losing to Calexico the last time they met, Helix decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went the Helix Highlanders' way against the Calexico Bulldogs on Thursday as the Helix Highlanders made off with a 48-25 victory. The Highlanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Helix got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michaelle Whyte out in front who posted 19 points. Those 19 points gave Whyte a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordyn McMillan, who put up 14 points.

Helix has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Calexico, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Helix and Calexico could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Helix (ranked 380th) will meet Rancho Bernardo (ranked 38th) at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Calexico (ranked 684th) will meet Otay Ranch (ranked 133rd) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
