The Hillsdale Fighting Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Aragon Dons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hillsdale will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
On Friday, Hillsdale was able to grind out a solid win over Burlingame, taking the game 6-3.
Robert Gilbert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Hillsdale let Jake Belloni and Parker Jessup run wild. Belloni scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Jessup scored a run while going 1-for-1. Belloni has become a key player for Hillsdale: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Aragon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over Mills on Thursday.
The team relied heavily on Charlie Henderson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Brandon Potter also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Aragon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Hillsdale is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Aragon, their record is now 5-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hillsdale has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Aragon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hillsdale came out on top in a nail-biter against Aragon in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Fighting Knights repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
