The Williams Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Mogollon Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Williams sitting on nine straight wins and Mogollon on three.
Williams is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Hayden 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since February 28th.

Jace Maebe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Williams saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mario Pedraza, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mogollon got the win against Ray on Friday by a conclusive 17-4. Considering the Mustangs have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Rocky Porter was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Porter was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Yoyo Suarez was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Parker Reidhead, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Mogollon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Williams' record now sits at 22-7-1. As for Mogollon, their record is now 21-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Williams has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mogollon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Williams got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April against Mogollon by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
