On Thursday, Kimball really took it to Franklin for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-13 victory on the road. Given Kimball's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Franklin is ranked 985th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kimball's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Coronado led the charge by scoring 13 points along with 6 steals. The game was Coronado's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Tuliau, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Kimball and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Kimball will square off against Tokay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Edison at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th.
