Basketball Game Preview: Corvian Community Cardinals vs. Langtree Charter Academy Lions

Corvian Community is 4-0 against Langtree Charter Academy since December of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Corvian Community Cardinals take on the Langtree Charter Academy Lions at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Corvian Community has seven straight victories, Langtree Charter Academy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Saturday, Corvian Community humbled Lake Norman Christian with an 87-52 victory.

RJ Moore Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 of 17 en route to 29 points and five rebounds. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Doug Quarles III, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

Corvian Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Langtree Charter Academy came up short against Bradford Prep on Friday and fell 77-64.

Corvian Community is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Langtree Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Everything came up roses for Corvian Community against Langtree Charter Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 84-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Corvian Community since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
