Tussey Mountain and the Panthers are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Tussey Mountain Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Northern Bedford County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Tussey Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
After a string of three wins, Tussey Mountain's good fortune finally ran out. They were dealt a 62-32 loss at the hands of Southern Huntingdon County. While losing is never fun, Tussey Mountain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Rockets are ranked 137th).
Tussey Mountain's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Marlee Hall, who scored 11 points, and Cara Benton who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northern Bedford County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Everett.
Tussey Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Northern Bedford County, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.
Tussey Mountain came up short against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in January, falling 44-32. Can Tussey Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
