The McClatchy Lions will take on the Pleasant Grove Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as McClatchy comes in on six and Pleasant Grove on four.
McClatchy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Grant 10-0. Considering the Lions have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Everett Yeske looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Antonio Barber was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Gabe Coronado was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI.
McClatchy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grant only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove made easy work of Cosumnes Oaks on Friday and carried off an 8-2 win.
Maddox Ali looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Pleasant Grove is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-5 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Breydan Boyle, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Pleasant Grove is undefeated when Boyle posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cole Davis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
McClatchy's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Pleasant Grove, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Everything went McClatchy's way against Pleasant Grove in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as McClatchy made off with a 13-6 victory. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
