The Davis Blue Devils will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Wood Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Hopefully Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Davis got the win against Oakdale by a conclusive 47-22. Given Davis' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 399th, while Oakdale is ranked 830th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Davis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jiana Trotman out in front who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Riley Macdonald, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wood was beaten by Woodcreek 61-29 on Wednesday. Wood has not had much luck with Woodcreek recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Davis' win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Wood, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Davis lost to Wood on the road by a decisive 59-41 margin in their previous meeting back in February. Can Davis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
