Baseball Game Preview: Antelope Titans vs. Grant Pacers

For the second straight game, Antelope will face off against Grant. The Titans are taking a road trip to challenge the Pacers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Antelope knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Grant likes a good challenge.

Antelope is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over Grant on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Pacers: they've now won six in a row.

Jacob Romo and Lorenzo Arkow were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Romo tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Arkow struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Antelope: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 1-2 otherwise. At bat, Romo went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Arkow went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Romo a new career-high.

In other batting news, Andrew Hodson was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Nick Ehrman was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.

Antelope always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Grant's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Antelope, their record is now 4-2.
