The Ripon Christian Knights just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Ripon Indians at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Ripon Christian is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
On Thursday, things could have been worse for Ripon Christian, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-25 loss to Riverbank. Ripon Christian has not had much luck with Riverbank recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Ripon Christian got a solid performance out of Maddie Yonker, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Yonker hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Kara Kessler was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Ripon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 57-47 to Hughson. While losing is never fun, Ripon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 753rd, while Hughson is ranked 328th).
Ripon Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Ripon, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Ripon Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Ripon in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 28-24 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ripon Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
