Basketball Recap: Willow Glen Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Willow Glen waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Santa Teresa Saints 61-43. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Willow Glen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalia Valerio, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 23 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Valerio's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lucia Diaz, who went 5 of 7 en route to 10 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaden Reynolds, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Lacy, who had 11 points.

Willow Glen pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Santa Teresa, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willow Glen will square off against Christopher at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Willow Glen has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 176 points over their last three games. As for Santa Teresa, they will challenge Leigh at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Teresa is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.
