The Las Plumas Thunderbirds waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 44-30 win over Hamilton. That's two games straight that Las Plumas has won by exactly 14 points.
Las Plumas found their leader in underclassman Ava Hepworth, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hepworth has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mylee Olivieri, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Loss or not, Hamilton got some senior leadership from Sheri Enneking who scored 14 points and Hanne Porter who scored 11 points.
Las Plumas' win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Hamilton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.
Las Plumas' road trip will continue as they head out to face Quincy at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Hamilton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Central Valley at 10:30 a.m. on January 6th. Central Valley is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
