In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylan Takahashi, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Jason Crawford also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Lodi kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They blew past Woodcreek 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Trojans have posted against the Timberwolves since April 20, 2018.
Like Lodi, Oak Ridge also got a great game from a two-way player: Jackson Molloy. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Molloy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Noah Nowaski looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Gavin Munguia was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jack Spero, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Lodi's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Oak Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
