If the Brawley Wildcats were riding high off their 58-33 takedown of the Southwest EC Eagles last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Brawley was dealt a 77-45 defeat at the hands of Vincent Memorial on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Brawley has suffered since December 7, 2023.
Despite the loss, Brawley still got an impressive performance from Breanna Montano, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Isabela Trujillo Sepulveda, who scored ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vincent Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paola Longoria, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Longoria has scored all season. Daniella Ortega was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Brawley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Vincent Memorial, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Brawley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Calipatria at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Calipatria is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Vincent Memorial won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southwest EC at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Southwest EC is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
