The Villa Joseph Marie Jems will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic at 5:15 p.m. on February 8th.
Last Tuesday, Villa Joseph Marie came up short against the Monarchs and fell 47-34. While losing is never fun, Villa Joseph Marie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Monarchs are ranked 45th).
Meanwhile, Mt. St. Joseph Academy strolled past the Vikings with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 38-22. The victory was just what Mt. St. Joseph Academy needed coming off of a 55-22 loss in their prior match.
Villa Joseph Marie's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8. As for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.
Villa Joseph Marie strolled past the Magic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 58-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Villa Joseph Marie since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
