Scott is a perfect 3-0 against Clay County since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Skyhawks will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Scott is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Scott is returning to their home field after beating Sherman on theirs, despite the fact Sherman has dominated at home this season. The Skyhawks walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Tide on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Skyhawks.
Louden White made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. White was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Kedron Elkins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Riley McClung, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Scott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Friday. Clay County lost 13-3 to Lincoln County.
Clay County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Collins, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Eli Metheney was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Scott, their win bumped their record up to 20-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Scott has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Clay County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Scott's way against Clay County in their previous matchup last Thursday, as Scott made off with a 6-0 victory. Do the Skyhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
