Stanton is 9-1 against Riverside since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will face off against the Generals at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Stanton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Parker on Tuesday. The Blue Devils blew past the Braves 17-7. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Wyatt Price tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Stanton let Yandi Torres and Kole Fleming run wild. Torres got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Fleming got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave Fleming a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hafer, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Riverside hadn't done well against Englewood recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Generals never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Generals as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Rylan Covington was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Covington was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Riverside got a massive performance out of Theodore Whittle, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were Whittle's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kenton Scott, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Riverside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Englewood only posted a batting average of .143.
Stanton's record now sits at 8-2. As for Riverside, their record is now 2-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Stanton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Stanton's way against Riverside in their previous meeting back in February, as Stanton made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
