This season hasn't been kind to the Overfelt Royals, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They took a serious blow against Newark Memorial on Wednesday, falling 60-18. Overfelt lost against Newark Memorial in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 77-19 score last time.
Sydney Scott was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points for Newark Memorial. The game was Scott's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Angelina Baca, who scored nine points.
Overfelt's loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Newark Memorial, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.
Overfelt will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gilroy at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Newark Memorial, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Foothill at 7:45 p.m. on December 28th.
