Softball Recap: Heritage Wins Going Away Against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe

Heritage never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 15-1 victory. Considering the Generals have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bailee Hollis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other pitching news, Serenity Ellard looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Brylee Pritchett was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Kaylin Fuentes also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Heritage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe only posted an OBP of .235.

Heritage's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Gilmer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they will venture away from home to face off against Ridgeland at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
