The West Jefferson Roughriders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Jefferson will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
West Jefferson can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They really took it to Grove City Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-14 victory at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-7.
Austin Buescher and Wyatt Keyt were among the main playmakers for West Jefferson as the former threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns and the latter gained 170 total yards and five touchdowns. Owen Warner also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Nelsonville-York beat Bellaire 20-12 on Friday.
Nelsonville-York's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Landen Inman, who gained 160 total yards and a touchdown, and Gavin Richards, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Inman was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 63 yards.
Nelsonville-York's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Cameron Sullivan and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped West Jefferson to 10-1 and Nelsonville-York to 8-3.
