Softball Recap: Charlton County's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Charlton County had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders on Wednesday as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

EmmaRae Roberson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Roberson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Jules Gowen and Kennedy Taylor did most of the damage at the plate: Gowen went 3-for-4 with one run and one double, while Taylor went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Callie Carter, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Charlton County's win bumped their record up to 13-15-1. As for Robert Toombs Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 14-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Charlton County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Robert Toombs Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Windsor Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
