In what's become a running theme this season, the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Clairton 77-36 on the road. Given Greensburg Central Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Clairton is ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Clairton still got an impressive performance from Iyanna Wade, who scored 22 points. That was a full 61.1% of Clairton's points, marking the 19th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Greensburg Central Catholic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Clairton, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4.
Greensburg Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clairton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Winchester Thurston at 6:00 p.m.
