Baseball Recap: Quincy Beats Maxwell for Their Third Straight Win

Quincy lost to Maxwell back in April of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Trojans blew past the Panthers 14-7. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Lancen Walke, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Driscoll, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Quincy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win (which was Quincy's third in a row) raised their record to 11-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Maxwell, they moved to 16-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Quincy beat the Panthers by a score of 8-7 later that day.
